Some people may wish to make me look bad. This could be brought on because there is an election in my Union this year and perhaps someone is running against me.

IF the stories are not true and you address them, it looks like you are worried by them.
Focus on the issues of your campaign, concentrate on your achievements so far, no body can criticise you for that, and be prepared with an answer if you are tackled about the stories.
Most people can see through malicious gossip and dirty campaigns rarely work.
If the stories are true, acknowledge them early in the campaign say how you have dealt with those issues and hope the electorate believe you

i been there befor they just mad cus u got something they what and they cant get it like a girl or something they tell ur friends lies for they can stop talking to u they talk stuff that r lies just to get u mad i got use to it i did not care cus a good friends r always there for u and got ur back so yea just stay away take care hope thing get better for u
