How can they be? The DNC primarily consists of rich elites, financiers (George Soros&Warren Buffet) academics, heiresses, media moguls, software millionaiares and the Hollywood crowd..
As of 2004, trial lawyers had donated $112 million to Dem candidates compared to the ENTIRE BIG OIL industry which donated only $15 million to the GOP. Scumbag lawyers, ambulance chasing lawyers give 71% to Dems and 29% to the GOP. Wall Street aka BIG BUSINESS gave to the DNC, 6 of the top 15 donations to Kerry came from firms like Citibank, J.P. Morgan, Goldman Sach, etc.....
Kerry, is "worth" $620 million. Like he's REALLY for the little guy.

answerman....The Clinton admin holds the ALL time record for having the greatest # of assoc. who have resigned under fire, pleaded the Fifth, fled the country, gone to jail or died under mysterious circumstances. Clinton was the first elected president to be IMPEACHED, the first to be DISBARRED from practicing law, the first to pay $800,000 to settle a sexual harrassement claim, the first president to have a credible witness accuse him of rape, the first to pardon a convicted traitor and drug dealer and the first to have sex with an intern his daughters age while conducting national security sensitve foreign policy. At the end of Clinton's admin, the US was in bad shape. he left the office and the country is worse condition than when he began his term. US citizens paid more in taxes after 8 years of Clinton, he raised taxes more than any other jpresident.

contin...Under Clinton's logging policy, forest fires caused massive economic and enviromental damage because of the dead wood that couldn't be cleared because 58 million acres in 39 states were off limits to any logging. He vetoed retort reform. He "hired" more the 500,000 NEW federal Gvt. employees. He sold our most sacred nuke technology to the Chinese for campaign contributions. He put up a wall between the FBI and the CIA, weakening their ability to gather initelligence for national security. Information that COULD have prevented 9/11. His 'ecomony' surplus was the result of the technology boom, which Reagan's tax cuts made possible.

Democrats are not for the "little guy" yet try and demonize Republicans as being all about big business. Someone once said "When Democrats throw a dinner party, they like to give poor people the leftovers (i.e. welfare). When Republicans throw a fancy dinner, they want you to pull up a chair and join it."Basically what this means is that Domocrats want to keep poor people in a slave-like mentality through welfare, whereas Republicans believe that any person born into poverty can rise up to affluence by studying hard in school and making something of themselves.

... do you have links to back up these numbers...
and how much did lawyers give the Republican party? you compare apples to oranges, yet not apples to apples? you know, most of them are lawyers too...
and I mean, we're talking about national politics... of course huge companies are going to be involved with both parties... you're not proving anything here...
and just because some is rich, it doesn't mean they are not for the little guy...
pretty much everyone isn't "for the little guy," if you go by the reasons you list...
you could try looking at what the parties do in office... as far as I see... dems do more for the "little guy"... while Republicans say "screw you, you should be the big guy if you want help"... granted, there are exceptions here and there...

The 'little guy' is such a savvy political tool. I frames issues to make people think that it is an 'us against them', poor against rich, argument.
However, the real question should be thus:
Do you want freedom or not. Is freedom a worthy pursuit, or would you rather give it up to be 'taken care of'. If you want to be 'taken care of', then what happens when more people give up than try? Who is John Galt?
Beware the temptation to covet. Trust in yourself and get in the game. With freedom, history has shown there is always room for ingenious, hardworking, live and let live people.

I've been a union member for years, unions support the Dems. What have they done for me? Not a darn thing.
The Dems are a bunch of snobby elitists who think they know better whats 'good' for the little guy. And when they say little guy, they mean the serving folks who work for them. The could care less about the average joe, they will say anything to get him to vote for them, but they never keep their promises. At least the Reps are up front about being pro business!

Not that it matters, but the Republican party is far wealthier than the Democratic. The problem with Dems is that they let themselves get pushed around like they are the little guy.
Worse, they have tried to deal with the ignorant and hateful conservative Christian white-trash that sets the Repubs agenda as if they are human - instead of the sub-human group that hates all of humanity except for those who live in the same perverted world, that they really are.

They are deffinatly not the party of the little guy, because if they were, instead of actually trying to fix problems, they would rather thrown money at it, and they change their opinions on issues like the wind blows, They don't know how to stand for anything.

You pretty much *have* to be rich to get into higher office. One's net worth doesn't necessarily mean one doesn't support the working and middle classes.

No- they are the party that walks all over the little guy. What's worse is they rely on the minority vote while stepping on their backs. Shameful.
Not that the Republicans don't have their problems either.
Have a great day!!!
