By living in the moment and stop forecasting future "hopes" that you think is going to make you happy. this is the secret that old folks know about. that's why most of them are much more happier than younger people. seek happiness, not originality. oh..and don't think to much. if it feels good at the moment, go for it!

Don't ever sit too long in your home alone. That's the most certain way to depression I know.
Have something to keep your brain busy. Create.
Or just do something which makes you feel successful.

And whenever you start ruminating about how bad you feel, shout at yourself and start thinking about anything else.

I feel that if there is something that makes you happy, like running, or spending time with your kids (if you have them), fishing, biking, anything like that. Do that if you have the means. I find for me, if I am down, I play with my kids, that really helps to make me happy and to cheer me up.

Also I have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, and he has given me alot of Joy in my life by helping me to realize the blessings that I have in my life.

Identify the aspects of your life that you are particularly unhappy with. Then figure out what would make them better. Then execute a plan to work towards achieving those things.

by doing things that you enjoy in life, by liking yourself and your faults and strengths, by doing good to others regardless of your differences. Volunteering at a place you like, helping others out when needed, just being good to yourself and others and you will find happiness...never do things to impress other people...you may only ended up disappointing yourself.

Just start doing things you'd do if you were happy. It will be hard to do at first - when you're still bumming, but you'll find if you start doing happy things you'll start thinking happy thoughts and you find yourself becoming happy.

Just start acting the way you want to be and you'll get there!

I do it by exercising which increases 'feel good' chemicals in your body. It also gives you more energy which makes you feel better. Massage is always good to get rid of stress. Go out with 'fun' friends!!

Surround yourself with happy people...the worse thing you can do is hang with someone who is a downer.
If you find yourself being blue to much then get out and exercise and be with friends...happy friends.

ATTITUDE! Decide to be happy and focus on what makes you happy but brings no harm to others. Try volunteering with sick kids--gives you perspective and makes you thankful for all you have.

when i'm feeling sad and lonely i go to the gym, tidy my room up, try to learn a language or look for funny answers on yahoo and wait till next day
