Well about a month ago I began to get stretch marks on my butt ! I am not fat at all and im very concious about my body. I am only 5'4 and 116 lb. My boyfriend says don't worry about it and that it happens to almost everyone. But not on their BUTT! thats the only place I have them. My mom says that they are just from my hips getting wider. Well I dont like them and I would love for them to go away or not get more. Right now I am using Palmer's Coco Butter .. but it does not seem to be working very well.

Join the club it's depressing but I'm afraid your man is right . I've been using Palmer's for ages it kinda minimises them but unfortunately you can't get rid of them totally. There isn't surgery either that can help. The butt is the most common area too.
They are caused by over stretched skin either from rapid weight gain or loss or when growing up and some people get them following pregnancy. There are several creams out there, but none of them work it's all a gimmick. Some people find that bronzers help to disguise them but there are here to stay. If it's any consolation you are not the only one suffering there are plenty woman out there skinny and fat who have them.

Shea butter has soothing, moisturizing and protecting effects. Due to the presence of a sizeable quantity of unsaponifiable fats, its content in vitamins and other active elements, shea butter adds other more precise activities to these general properties. It displays a protecting role against UV rays because of its content in cinnamic acid and can thus be incorporated in solar products. The natural latex contained in shea butter would moreover prevent certain sun allergies. Shea butter also helps cell regeneration and capillary circulation. This favours the healing of small wounds, skin cracks and crevices, and skin ulcers. In the cosmetic field, this property is an asset against skin aging. It has restructuring effects on the epidermis, also on dry and fragile hair. Dry skin, dermatitis, dermatoses, eczema, sun burn, and burns are all helped by natural shea butter.

It has an anti-elastase characteristic which makes it a good active ingredient against stretch marks.
Shea butter can also be used to treat rheumatism and aching muscles, and to ease colds because it decongests nasal mucous tissues. It is very well tolerated by the skin for it does not normally trigger any allergic reaction and can even be used on very sensitive skin areas such as mucous tissues and around the eyes.

Shea butter is therefore an outstanding recipe for cosmetic and pharmaceutical purposes, even incorporated in high proportions. It is easy to work into all kinds of emulsions and makes a very good excipient (carrier) as it prevents allergenic reactions without altering the active principles.

I actually just watched the Tyra Bank's show yesterday and she had a doctor on speaking about the same issue.
She said there is really no way to make stretch marks go away....unless they are purple or blue. You can have those taken off by a simple surgical procedure.
But if they are white, there is no way to remove them. You CAN cover them with makeup (her advice....but who would really want to do that!?).
Stretch marks are a pain! They do not tan...so you can't even do that!
GOOD LUCK!

Do not feel bad, that happened to me when I was about 16. I got a few across my butt and upper thighs. My husband calls them my tiger strips. I don't hate them that bad because there not that noticeable. I am not fat either, it's just that your growing so fast. I would recommend Mederma for scars. I know pregnant women use it for there stretch marks on their bellies. It's worth a try. Good Luck.

it is good to use vitamin E lotions on stretch marks, and yes it works, but you can go to the GNC store and get pure vitamin E capsules that you will open and rub on the area where the marks are, and believe me you will notice a big difference soon after but not like in a couple of days...i would say atleast a month later. GOOD LUCK!

Vitamin E straight from the capsule. If you break open the capsule and rub the oil on your stretch marks nightly, they will eventually go away. I used this the whole time I was pregnant and I NEVER had a stretchmark. It's worth a try and good for your skin.

You just need to deal with them they are a fact of life everyone gets them on some part of their body. And there is nothing that can really take them away besides paying top dollars to have it done.

I agree with the Vitamin E response you received before, my mom said it worked very well for her after a month or two, I don't know if they completely went away, but I know they noticeably diminished.
