Driving home last night, I've noticed while I was in gear traveling at 55-60 mph, I sped up to gain faster speeds my engine revved up and then got into gear. This just started happening recently, I called around and talked to a few repair shops and they told me its time for a new clutch, another said clutch slave cylinder, and one said its time for a transmission. I just need help with this for anyone of you whoever experienced this problem before, can tell me what exactly should I get done to my car. I ordered a Exedy Clutch for my car a long time ago, havent got the chance to install it, seeing it would cost me $800 without a warranty since I bought my own. I even bought the Clutch Slave Cylinder. Does it seem like I need to repalce the Clutch Slave Cylinder?

when your engine revs up when you depress the pedal the clutch is definately slipping.check the fluid in your clutch reservoir its the one furthest to the right. you have one for the brakes and another small one for the clutch. you could be low on fluid. ifso fill then pump the clutch see if it gets harder or spongy if spongy you will have to bleed just like you do the brakes. it has a bleeder valve on the slave cylinder which is usually attatched to the bell housing on the tranny. you maybe able also to adjust the clutch on your make and model. i would do all this i told you before anything else. you dont need no damn transmission theyre trying to rip you off already. if anything you will need a new clutch plate go ahead and get the kit it comes with pilot bearing clutch plate and pressure plate. whatever you do. do not take it to the one who told you you needed a new transmission. does the tranny make any kind of noise at all when engaged. email me and we can go further on this. i hate someone who rips a person off. hope this helps

When the engine revved up did you smell something like hot brakes? Then your clutch was more than likely slipping. You don't need a new trans,as long as your not the grind till you find type of person. Sounds like you need a new clutch. It's gonna cost you right around 800 to 1000 dollars parts and labor.

If your engine revs when putting under an extra load while accelerating, then it its definitely your clutch worn out. you need to pull the transmission to replace the clutch, since you already have a slave cylinder, why don't you just change it anyway. The old one would probably start leaking anyway.

Sounds like the clutch, manual transmissions do NOT slip.
