Diseases associated with this include malabsorption syndromes or inflammatory bowel disease - however you would expect diarrhea to be present. Colorectal cancer can also present with any change in bowel habits, including mucous in the stool.

I would give you an idea of what it could be (I'm in the med. field), but I wouldn't want to worry you. It could be something little or big. CALL YOUR DOCTOR!!!
You may have to give a stool sample. Keep in mind what your eating 24hr before this happens. Is there anything in common? Do you wash your food or cook your food properly?

Your intestines are lined with mucous membrane which naturally secretes mucous to lubricate the system. Sometimes excess mucous can be expelled with stool, nothing to worry about.

it could be a sign of something serious, like ibs. go get checked by a doc.
