Perhaps we're like computers. Our brains need to be cooled to run properly!

Why does evolution think hair needs to grow out of our ears and noses?

There are more cases of balding men because hair is not a vital part of survival any more. Before, when a man began to lose his hair, he would probably cook his brain in the sun and end up eaten by a lion or something, so that kept the hair-loss gene from countinuing in a new generation, but now those with that gene survive to pass it down.

I believe that men lose hair because its a natural process in the body affected by genetics. Evolution has little part in it except that most people are not nomads and wanderers anymore. Therefore the human body does not need the capability to keep the head warm as much. Plus early man was not expected to live long enough to get to the age where hair loss began, there are a few exceptions where young men start losing hair. Again this is due to genetics.

Evolution doesn't think. Evolution is an observation of how species change over time to favor their survival within their environments. It's not a person, or a god, or any sort of guiding force. It's a function of biochemistry.

Last time i checked, most of us still have hair.

Despite the semantic point that "evolution doesn't think," the fact remains that for modern man, hair doesn't play a role in survival, so it is unnecessary.

That being said, I am not personally all that happy about the fact that I am balding. Maybe I'll shoot for the Vin Diesel look soon.

Wait, what? What are you basing this on? Is there evidence showing that men in particular are getting less hairy?
Not to mention the fact that evolution is a random, undirected process with no end goal in sight.

Why does evolution think we need any at all on our bodies? Why have we been left with annoying leg and pubic hair that we have to spend an age shaving and waxing off?

I assume you suggesting that there are more and more balding men...I guess the idea is that hair (Iike animal fur) if for protection from the elements and that since humans are no longer "exposed" to the elements for long periods of time, the protection is not needed....don't know if I agree with it though...

Evolution doesn't think.
One theory for why we don't have much hair is that we went through a semi-aquatic phase in our evolution. e.g. in swamps.
This would also have encouraged upright posture, toolmaking skills and a high protien diet suitable for developing a large brain.
