PHP photo files?

I was sent an email from a friend that included 3 photos. All 3 photos are in .php format. Everything I'm finding on the net is that PHP has mostly to do with text documents. Am I incorrect in thinking this? What is the best way to view these pictures?

OK....tried ACDsee, but I think I d/led the wrong program (there was no ACDC). After d/ling ACDsee, I tried to install it, but didn't have the program necessary to open the file??
