There is no evidence that painting with Latex based paints are harmful.
Latex nipples on bottles, latex paint, unless your unborn is allergic to latex, there is no caustic or toxins in latex paints, now oil paints yes are harmful.
Always wear a respirator though because ther is more proven toxins on the wall your painting that becomes airbourne from the roller, brush, or sprayer hitting the wall and distributing it throughout the working area.
When you spray lysol, hairspray, cleaners, deodorizers, whatever else is sprayed in the air will and does collect on your walls. When said walls are worked on they will go airbourne.

Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) found in most paints are harmful, especially to pregnant women and small children. It is reccomended by some health experts to avoid redecorating during the first two years of a baby's life - this includes painting, varnishes, new carpets and new furniture. Negative health effects can include respiratory irritation and immune system effects; even exposure in the womb can predispose children to infectious diseases and allergies. The good news is that VOC-free paint is available. Do a search for milk paint (this is truly a milk-based paint such as was used a century ago) or check out Sherwin-Williams for their "Harmony" line of paint. You may pay a little more but it's so much better for you, your baby, and the environment!

as loong as the paint is not toxic and its not near the fetis you should be fine. Make sure to leave a window open and try not to inhale any of the fumes. Activities that keep you busy are good, it will keep you and the baby active and healthy.

My doc told me the only part in painting I could have was picking the color. Even the non toxic ones have fumes. I didn't risk it, but some women will....don't know why they do!

My OB/GYN told me as long as the room/house is well ventilated, and you wear a painter's mask (Available at hardware stores) then it is not a problem.
