I watched Rock Star: INXS faithfully because it was my kind of people playing my kind of music. I watched it because I had loved INXS back in the 80's and 90's. And I watched it because they said it would be the votes from home making the decision. Then at the end when JD won I was SOOOO disappointed I swore I would never watch the show again and I haven't. Through the whole season they told JD he needed work and America voted for everyone else. So why in the end did they pick him. He's ugly and concieted. Not to mention he gave up the least to be on the show. He was supposedly homeless to begin with. And at one point even the INXS band members said that he was uncooperative with them. I just don't get it and I would like an explanation. I didn't know about Yahoo! answers at the time either.

The whole thing is rigged. Think about it. America voted, that's for sure. But it was the last three that had to perform and the band still decided on who they wanted. So if they liked someone and America didn't, they still saved him/her because they could. Then America has less and less to chose from, and finally the singer wins.

THis year was worst. Even though I wanted JD last year, this year's winner was chosen from the very beginning, but they had to go through the motions. I think it's fun, but I am losing my interest fast because of this year's choice. He should not have won.

I'm not sure it was rigged, but they definitely had JD Fortune eyeballed early on. Inxs even targeted this on a recent "XM Radio Artist Confidential". I think you make some good points. I also think CBS played up the whole angle involving the "Homeless" stuff. I also think that TV over-dramatized the whole "uncooperative" stuff. On that same interview INXS joked when JD stormed out of the songwriting clinic. They told him "your song better be good JD" (smile)

There was no doubt that Marty Casey would have won even these guys were competing for "American Idol", but in the end Fortune was a better fit than Casey for Inxs - and its showing on the Tour. I've seen them twice and JD is great.

In the end, I do think the show wasn't totally "reality", but it did entertain me.

I don't know about all of the drama behind the show but the loss of former singer, Michael Hutchence were some hard shoes to fill and the other band members knew it. How they came to the decision to pick this guy was a good one cause I really like song they made with him, is it "pretty Vegas"? He gets my vote anyway regardless of the show. And I am a big INXS fan too.

You need to bear in mind that the editors of the show manipulate everyone into thinking a certain idealogy which has nothing to do with what the band members are actually thinking. They totally made it look like JD was such slacker, they only showed all of the mistakes that he was making.
