Has anyone found some prenatal vitamins that are easy on the stomach? I have been on prescription Precare and Prenate, and both make me feel much worse. My doctor says I can switch to any brand I like if anything is easier on my stomach. I am not going to not take a vitamin, because it is too important for my growing baby. I would really appreciate some suggestions from people with experience for which prenatals are easiest on the stomach.

It's not really ALL that important to take them if you eat healthy foods. Too much Vitamins are not good for you. My midwife told me that I did not eat well for a day, consider taking a one a day vitamin.

Don't know if you can truely get away from the nausea, but if your try a few brands and none seems better then the rest, resign your self to a few months of being nauseated.. oh wait.. already done that haven't you? I found that while I was usualy sick as a dog in the mornings, by early evenning and especially after supper I felt normal( as normal as you can feel with something growing inside you lol) After your evening meal, take your pre natal vitamin with a full glass of water. avoid lying down for 30 -45 min ( this also combats heart burn!) and you may beable to fight off the pill related nausea. there is no set in stone rule saying when to take you pill, jsut try and keep it at the same time of day consistantly. hope this helps!

I like Natachew. It is available by prescription. It also does not have the same funny taste that can cause nausea. Before you take your vitamin, eat a good meal. Prenatal vitamins are always best taken on a full stomach. Never on an empty one, it will only make you sicker.

Don't worry about prescription ones! I got mine at Target-it's their brand-and they worked fine. It was my doctors suggestion too! I never got nauseous on them and even continued to take them while breastfeeding. My OB/GYN told me straight that the prescription cost more than they are worth-I got 150 for $8 from Target. I strongly suggest over the counter prenatals.

i think the best ones for you are the ones that ur dr. recommends or gives you. My prenatal vitamins were making me sick as well--but i was taking them in the morning. I have switched to taking them at night with a snack--and I dont get nauseated.
It dont matter what time u take them as long as u do.
