My spouse & I belong to a private club that's putting on a big party next month. My husband has invited a divorced male friend to go with us. I want to invite my female friend who is legally separated from her husband. My husband says we shouldn't because they might think we're playing cupid. Neither one of them is interested in dating yet. I'm not trying to play cupid. I just want both of these friends to have a good time. They are not from our town so they will both be riding with us in our car and would probably be spending the night at our house. Don't you think we can each explain to them that this is not a date - they're just both our friends? Party will be fun. Lots of friends they both know will be there. We love both these guys and want them to share in the fun. What do you think we shoudl do?

My husband and I enjoy each other's company every day. I think friends enhance, not interfere with a relationship. And it's nice because we have so many friends in common.

As long as you tell them both you are not trying to "play cupid" and you just want them to have a good time, I don't see anything wrong with it. Invite them both.

Tell them both what you're trying to do, and ask if they would like to go.
