To dee j - You made me smile, I'm a 47 year old woman. My brother will be 60 next year, he turned me on to alot of good music. I was a teenager in the 70's, lots of good music then too.

I think its cool but thats not the reason. There is a target audience for every product. They put in the music that will help them sell the product.

I really dont' think they had anything to with it.......its the young ad execs that come up with the idea's. It used to be a product was advertised with popular music, now a lot music becomes popular because we recognize it from commercials......which I think is really cool...Vegas is a great example of a hit song that was first promoed on a commercial.

Yes, because there was some really good music in the Sixties, Seventies, and Eighties that aim at the hearts and emotions of any age group, so why not enjoy it today in different venues!!! I'm not sure the artists are thrilled "artistically-speaking" but "financially-speaking" I bet they are totally okay with it. Great observation!

Actually, the people who decide the music are the creatives in ad agencies, and the average age of this position is 27 years old. "Executives" have nothing to with it.

I personally liked the use of The Smith's "How Soon is Now" for the Nissan Maxima 2000. (And now it's everywhere.)

But Nissan has always had great music for its ads.

You are right...I never thought about it before. I do catch myself jammin to commercials now...
But when you think about it, they were jammin to commercials back in their day...
