Yes it's true because every time you flush water up inside your vagina you are diluting your natural ability to clean yourself. Your vagina contains good bacteria and when you douche you wash that away leaving your prone to catching infections and you dont' want that because your vagina is sensitive to infections and diseases. Talk to your gynecologist about douching and how often you can do it so it doesnt mess up your vaginal chemistry.

The vagina is a self-cleaning organ. I know that sounds strange but it is. Douching generally destroys the beneficial bacteria that lives in your vagina right along with anything bad. It's just not the best idea, as it is pretty unnecessary. The only reason to use a douche is if you have very strong and offensive feminine odor and that is the only thing that will work to get rid of it.

Bad, bad, BAD! Not only do you wash away the naturally healthy and good bacteria (leaving yourself open for icky things like yeast infections), but if you DO already have an infection, it will help to push it into your uterine cavity, creating a potentially dangerous situation!
The ONLY time you should douche is if your doctor tells you specifically to do so, and you are given a medication that requires that it go through a douche.
Your vagina is a self-cleansing marvel - DON'T mess with it!!

Douching after your period is actually recommended, but not with the store douches, you can buy the hotwater bottle/douche at the drug Store. I just use that and put warm not hot water in it and a little of my soap and then use that, then refill and use just warm water to rinse. I like the clean feeling and after 6-7 days of blood I love that!!!!! To each their own, so many women knock douching, yet they seem to be selling them off the racks like hotcakes. The only reason some doctors say douching is bad, is because it can strip the mucus membranes lining the vagina of it's natural lubricants and can make you susceptible to infections, but if you douche with water and not vinegar you are okay. Definitely not either type of douche when you are pregnant though.

If you douche to often you can get yeast infections. If you do it once a month after your period it should be okay. a doctor once told me that the vagina was self cleaning and douches weren't necessary. If you have odor try rinsing the outer intimate area with white vinegar and water. ( two or three tablespoons to a quart of warm water) this cuts the slime that holds the odor. Works great for me!

I think if you use an all natural based douche it isint as harmful as the ones with perfume and additives in them. I think your body naturally cleanses itself. Unless you have a strong oder after your menstral I dont think it is really necessary to douche. Hope this helps. Take care.

till fantastically advised by making use of a well being care specialist, douching is senseless and truly risky. i have in no way heard of it being appropriate to maximum cancers, even with the indisputable fact that it extremely will strengthen the potential of vaginal infections. The douching procedure could also serve to rigidity present day vaginal infections up added into the reproductive gadget, to the uterus and ovaries. you should offer up asking your spouse to douche, and he or she ought to offer up douching thoroughly till her well being care specialist tells her that she desires to. The style and smell of her vulva won't be able to be superior if it turns into contaminated. If she has been douching oftentimes it truly is extremely likely she already is contaminated, and your suggestion to douche more advantageous is basically going to make concerns worse. the acceptable way for a lady to bathe her exterior genitals is merely to apply her hand to bathe them interior the tub or bathe. the contained in the vagina is clearly self-cleansing and would not desire to have cleansing soap, water, or some thing else compelled interior to bathe it out.

I think an occasional one is ok, but generally speaking it's best to let your body cleanse itself rather than introducing external substances in there to clean things out. If you really feel you need something, at least use some sort of natural kind that doesn't have heavy perfumes or anything that could irritate such a sensitive area.

Douching flushes bacteria back up into your uterus/cervix. It's bad and should never be done. You'd be better off with a bath.
