Should I eat the meat or leave it for the bears and weasles ?

Please don't kill a deer!
It's much better to watch them get slaughtered on the highways (not to mention the damage they do to cars)!

You could probably have some cool chaps made, too.
You are talking about a licensed kill, right? If yes, then either eat the meat, or donate it to a DNR program for the hungry.

Eat the meat. There is no better meat than venison. Make sure your 30.06 is legal to hunt with where you live. Also, make a head shot so you don't have holes in the side.

leave it for the forest to devour .Only take a cooler with you for the tenderloin and cut it out .The only real good part to eat rare off the grill .

If you are sure there are bears around, leave it for them. The smell will pull them to it soon enough. What are you using to hunt? Rifle, bow, crossbow or blackpowder.
