If I click on the option that "i want to get pregnant" it sais I have to make love from sept 16-21.

but when I click on the button to "avoid pregnancy"
it extends the time not to do it from sept 15-23

why?

does that mean that if i DO want to get pregnant that I should still make love past the dates that it sais?

i just dont get it

thanks

If you want to get pregnant, you have a very small window each month during which you can *reliably* get pregnant. Those are the first set of dates.

If you're trying to avoid pregnancy, there's a serious consequence to failing your goal. So, they add a few days on each end to lessen the margin of error and help ensure that you will not get pregnant unintentionally.

No website knows for sure when you're ovulating, so yeah, you might raise your chances by having sex outside of the dates given (in addition to taking advantage of the dates given.)

Essentially, it is says that to get pregnant, the best times to have sex are Sept. 16-21, but if you did not want to get pregnant, do not have sex (or use contraception if you do) from Sept. 15-23. The time to abstain (or use protection) is longer only because it is very difficult to pinpoint when you will ovulate, so it gives you more time for the "just in case" factor. If your goal is to get pregnant, then you should have been having sex regularly from Sept 16 to 21. Having sex after these dates is fine, but you may have already ovulated, so it could be too late for fertilization to occur.

I dont' know what site you are looking at I would suggest you go to www.babycenter.com and go to ovulation calendar and it will tell you the days you are most likely to get pregnant. I have two girls and not having anymore so I have no idea if it gives you an avoid pregnancy choice. Good Luck.

Because the dates it tells you when you want to get pregnent is when you ovilate. The dates that you don't want to get prenent, because the sperm can live you for about 24+ hours. If you were to have sex on the 15, and you ovulate on the 16, the sperm can still reach you. That is why they say to avoid intercourse before and after the days you ovulate. Good Luck!

Sperm can live in fertile quality cervical mucus for up to 5 days so to avoid pregnancy you need to abstain for 5 days before ovulation and 2 days past ovulation just to be safe.

Did you read it carefully. May be there is a not that if you avoid pregnancy, you should not make love between 15-23. Just double check it. they sometimes put small notes somewhere.

If you want to get pregnant, have sex three times a day, everyday. It will happen eventually!
