because it is clearly stated in the community guidlines that questions such as "do you like my avatar" are catagorized as chatting. if you think the site is so stupid then no one said you had to use it. but they clearly wont be running out of users anytime soon just because you cant ask a stupid question like "do you like my avatar". that question is completly worthless. if everyone was asking dumb questions like that it would take away from the point of the site. there are other places you can go, such as yahoo messenger, where you can chat and ask questions like that all you want. but if you wanna use the site and not get reported, you'll have to follow the guidlines. no big deal.

Well, it's more like some idiot reported you for a violation. I've gotten violations for some really stupid stuff as well. Makes me wish they'd make an adults only area where there are no violations.

because it is not considered a question. It is considered chatting and not asking a sensible question. It was probably someone that saw your question and have seen that question a hundred times before. It is the equivalent of spam.
by the way I like you avatar, you look cute

The mob has ruled.
It's a stupid, chatty question.
"Chatting" is a violation.

It's in the guidelines. That is one of the sample question of what we are NOT supposed to ask, along with "Do you like Britney Spears?". I think it's dumb. If they stopped worrying about whether or not a question is too "chatty" (their words), they would be able to remove the questions that are really offensive, ie- racist, sexist, nationalist, homophobic, or just downright mean questions sooner. But try telling that to Yahoo!!

it is in violation since someone decided to report you, but I don't mind questions like that. I don't think most people mind them
