It is Sulphur in Europe and Asia, but Sulfur in US. The spelling sulfur is now adopted by the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry.
Sulfur is originally a Latin word and uses F in its spelling. If it was a Greek word then, PH would be used.

Both are correct. Sulphur for the rest of the world and sulfur for the Americans. I'm a Chemist, so I just call it "S".

Okay, both are the correct spelling of the word. It just depends on where you are. "Sulphur" is more of an older word used in other countries, but is still right in America. While the word "Sulfur" is more modern American.

Both are acceptable. "Sulphur" tends to be an old-timey usage - also more common in the UK. "Sulfur" is what you're going to usually see used in modern America.
