People think its worse if I yell/curse but most of my low blows and most hurtful hits come when i'm sarcastic and condescending. I guess it depends on the person. Some people would think because one is yelling its much worst off but they maybe the people who don't understand or pick up on the sarcasim etc. And the complete opposite some may just do sarcastism and feel like the yelling is childish so its not so offensive but for one who is sarcastic and picks up on the sarcastism in the argument would get offened the most.

Someone who is sarcastic and condescending. They are making fun of you and trying to make you look like you were a nobody. When someone yells and curses at you it's easier to talk back but when they speak to you the other way you sometimes don't know what to say or feel down right hurt and humuliated.

I read your profile, and I suspect you're trying to figure out how to grind your axe to the max--thinking this will enhance your chances of winning those verbal battles.

Rather than fanning the fire with a hot head, I recommend trying to learn how to difuse a heated situation by keeping a cool head instead. When things get heated, it should be because your body (rather than you head) is hot. Make love, not war.

An interesting approach to losing your imagined need to win an argument is referred to as detachment. To become detached from a hot head's remarks, you simply imagine yourself leaving your body and rising above the situation until you can look down on it from above. While looking down on it, you ask yourself what the person who represents you could say or do to be looked on by the world as they most intelligent person involved in the argument. For some reason, most people come to the realization that saying or doing something that will difuse the situation is what they would want the world to see them doing more than anything else. That choice makes them look so much smarter than the person who would choose to resort to continued mud slinging or whatever is taking place.

The information you wrote in your profile leads me to believe you might currently be more focused on beauty than on intellect. You know, you're a stunner, he's sexy, your daughter is beautiful. There's nothing wrong with that. Hey, if you've got, flaunt it. But imagine how much greater life would be if you also used your mental abilities in a fashion that's as stunning as your physical beauty. Wow! Beauty and brains too.

Hope you find the thoughts I've shared with you to be of value.

Yelling and cursing ain't $#it. They are not necessarily cursing you, they are using curse words to vent. Unless the other person is an @$$hole. Sarcastic is a different story. It is a disregard to what you have to say, and not taking your words seriously.

They are equally bad because both demonstrates a lack of respect for the other person. It is possible, using good communication skills, to have disagreements that involve "fighting fair". The problem with the tactics you list is that they both end up in the disagreement worsening, rather than moving in the more productive direction of resolution. If one of these is you, take the moral high ground; stop using negative tactics, and call your partner's attention to the use of his. Once you learn to fight fair, communication will improve enormously.

Sarcastic and condescending. They hit you where it hurts emotionally. Cursing is like, gah, who cares, you're just being loud and annoying.

Well those are both bad approaches, but if the yelling person at least sticks to the issues that is probably the better of two evils, provided there is no physical threat or indication of it.

Sarcasm is a wonderful trait. Yelling and cursing show lack of intelligence.
