i keep getting emails from someone I think I know but they have set up a different addy...is there any way I can find out where it has come from

You can view the header information of the email and it will possibly give you the IP of their computer, but not always. You'll at least get the IP of the originating mail server. The method for viewing header info varies by email client.

Most email has there ip add scroll down and it will say generated from and have there ip # or go to ip add finder and sometimes you can put in that persons ip # and it will pull it up Good luck

To check on email headers go to the details link of an email Or check the properties.

Mail is sent to you from the mail server at the ISP so any IP checker would find that IP and not the original sender.
