I seriously doubt ANY of the other drivers give a damn your son is in NHS or plays in the band or can use her pom-poms

If you are proud of your kids I know there are MANY other ways to show this without doing the bumper thing....my parents are proud of me and never had to do that...

I agree with you ! I am proud of my kids; but frankly it is just plain corny!! And, nobody likes a bragger! The only thing that can be assumed is these parents are teaching their kids about pride and vanity!! You can show your kids you love them without having to involve the whole world!!

I remember my son was so happy to give me that bumper sticker. I sat it up in the window. This was a big deal for him. So I did it for him and to show I was proud of him for reaching his potential at the time.
I do like the one that says "My kid can beat up your Honor Student".

lol. I don't think they put the bumper stickers there for the benefit of the other drivers. They are just so proud they want to share their "joy" with the rest of the world.

I think the honor roll and the gifted children program in school is very overrated. Parents do this b/c they are proud of their children. My husband and I did good in school we were not honor roll students but we are able to live and cope in REAL life and that is what matters.
Just because a kid gets all A's in school does not mean he is going to get all As in life.

I think it's a great way to show pride in your child's achievements. It may not matter to anyone else, but it also might inspire another parent to get more involved in his or her child's schooling.

we do this because if we dont our kids look at us and wonder why are we ashamed to put a sticker of this nature on our cars-as a parent you feel bad if your kid asks you to display it and you wont.
You all seem to think we do it because we are bragging-this is not the case....our kids ask us to put it on-we do it....what should we say? "sorry kid nobody cares about your accomplishments and parading it around on my car is just bragging"? You tell that to a kid and see how hurt they are....

They are living thru that. Many of them were either not a bright bulb in school or couldn't "make the team" so they live vicariously thru their kids. Pretty sad really.

It's the thing to do now. Personally, I don't want random strangers knowing my child's name.
