I believe it is because the manufacturer of the ATM does not know whether the keypad is going to a drive-up or a walk up ATM. It is probably cheaper to make it with Braille then to have to make 2 separate keypads.

so that a person can drive through the ATM lane...a seeing person, like a cab driver, and the blind person can use the ATM and still keep his number secret.

I don't find it all that strange. I see people in traffic ever day that undoubtedly have to have those to make a withdrawal.

maybe they walk-up to them.i would hope..but the way some people drive ..sometimes i wonder if they are actually blind
