Yes. I have long held that belief. The human condition is what gives us dominion over all we see. The simple fact is this: Without man, there would be no concept of God in the first place. It translates into every language, but the fact of the matter is that beyond the word is a concept. A concept that has been conceived over thousands of years. But all in all, the things we see today, the advances that have been, are being, and will be made, man will achieve. And why, because we are Gods unto ourselves. When it is all that is said and done, we can save or destroy ourselves, and in that alone, we can say we are God.

I agree. My thinking is in my answer to "firefly" in the following question sometime ago.
Question: "Is there such a thing that you call your "self"? Ifso, describe it...?"
Answer: I don't know the exact answer. But I would like the following reasoning.
Am I the body? If so, if I have a headache, or my foot hurts, did my self go down and I feel less? I don't think so; actually I am more determined to get over it, I explore, ask and try every way to find a way to getting over it because my self is the same and as strong as it was before I started hurting. Same thing with emotions, brain activity, intelligence, creativity, etc all connected to the body. If I am happy and more comfortable with wealth and things that please my body such as, clothes, food, sex etc., are they the self? They can't be, because they are all external to me and they make me happy because I choose to be happy with them, but they are not me. Some people are happy in a poor house with lots of love of family and others are measurable even with billions of money around to spend, an choice of the self.
Am I the waking consciousness? No, because when I sleep, I still can dream in my sleeping consciousness and when I wake up I feel fully normal my self. My self is not my thoughts or creativity or intelligence, because they all are absent when I sleep. My self is definitely not my body because even if I cut off or lose in an accdent, a foot or a leg or an arm, my self is still strong and I figure out ways to overcome my disadvantages.
So, the only answer I can think of is that I must be the Spirit of God, just like the Scripture says that I am created in the image of God. Perhaps I am a small portion of God's Spirit combined with my personality which makes me a Soul. Take the personality part off, because it is connected intimately with my family, culture and traditions, I am simply the Spirit forever observing everything that is happening around my body.
I am in reality eternal and seperate and independent entity from my body.

We are God's parts and parcels created in His image, but we are absolutely NOT God, Who is the Supreme Absolute Truth, Everything and Creator of all Worlds, both material and spiritual. There are many forms of the One True God. We are same in God's quality, but NOT quantity! Can you create this cosmic manifestation and make all the laws of this cosmos work? Can you make water, fire, air, earth, ether? It is this attitude of INDEPENDENCE from God that creates the kind of karma that gets us here on earth to live and relive lives as we play with matter and pretend to be the controller and enjoyer. The Lord alone is The Controller and Enjoyer of everything. Not a blade of grass moves unless He wills it.
Also, a common misunderstanding out there is that demi-gods and demi-goddesses are God, but they are NOT....They are conditioned souls like us all, but are elevated souls who help The Creator as a form of their loving devotional service. This ignorant and arrogant place of believing oneself to be God is a common error made by the false ego and along many spiritual paths, especially as one becomes confused about the differences between Self Realization and God Realization. (Many yogis fall from this place along the "yogic stairway to heaven" when they say thay are God! Caution! Very bad Karma and ARROGANT!) Both your spirit soul (the real YOU) AND the Lord-God reside in your heart.
Also, the head, the BRAIN, etc is not the same as mind, personality, intellect, consciousness, ego and spirit! These are ALL different! The on-line books below are free and can explain all these wonderful things for you. Good luck untangling your tangled webs of illusion!

brain is not God but His creation, capable to respond to mind, which is tool for Consciousness and Consciousness is representation of God if not polluted. Human being is a structure capable to hold all three units all together enable structure to sustain and maintain Life....Unfortunately, being confused ,human reversed that trio and put Consciousness last in a line, mind is not known really, and body is an object which science desperately digging for answers.

if you were to just leave some kind of footnote describing what "god" is i might take a stab at agreeing or disagreeing. i mean what's the criterea for qualifying to be called god? do i need to have a third eye or something? you want to know if you can be called god. do you know what you are asking to be called?
but i certainly agree with your asertion that it's all in one's head. i just am worried that you'd confuse your brain about it's identity. it doesn't know what on earth "god" is... it'd just malfunction or report error if asked to believe that it is something it has no clue regarding.
i'm not certain you even know what you mean by "god"

God of what in particular? If we're all god, I think no one would be miserable. There won't be any homeless, hookers, etc. I think believing or hoping is useless because that's kind of similar to wishing. Taking action is the only thing that counts. Besides can you say that to someone in hopeless/helpless conditions like cancers, aids, etc.?

I read in the Bible that God created man in his own image - not the other way around. I don't think we can declare ourselves "the center of the universe" just because we choose to think so.

Hmm...
"If you 'believe' I have no doubt that things will happen for you".
"I think it's all in one's head".
Self created delusions are the most powerful/believable ones, I agree. Are we God? I'd have to say No.
