I think France is a beautiful country. It's a lot cleaner than England. I think that neither the English nor the French are particularly polite. There are of course exceptions to every rule.
You might have been unlucky with your encounter with that race.
I think the Celts (Irish , Welsh , Scottish , Cornish, Manx) are the most polite followed by the Canadians & Scandanavians
The Germans & Swiss etc are also very polite as are the Italians. The flemish people are also very good mannered & polite.
This is provided that every one is sober & in good humour at the time.
IF you move the "poxy Channel " make sure it is empty at the time I would not like anyone to drown not even the French OR English

I love France. I ended up living in Switzerland, but France was my first choice. They have fantastic food, food markets, style of life. They are very welcoming if you speak a little of their language, or at least make the effort and don't try speaking English with what you think is French accent and expect the French to understand.
I don't understand the problem. The Brits more or less took over the Dordogne. I even met a French man who bought his house there from a Brit.
This sort of thinking makes me (an ex-pat in the truest sense) think that the British Isles should be pushed out across the Atlantic towards the USA, where it's politics surely lie.
Europe can survive without the UK, can the UK survive without Europe? Or will it become the 51st State?
Think on these things, despair and die!

I was not even going to bother to pick up two points to such a daft question if it is a question! However I have to admit, I agree with the Channel Tunnel part, its presenting problems with regards to illegal immigrants, and nothing on this planet is going to get me down there!!!
I mean if the ferry sinks, you may be able to swim, but I think this could also be a terrorists
target in time to come?!?!? Think about it.
Scary stuff huh?

An English man and a French man find a magic lamp, they rub it and a geene pops out to grant them one wish each....The French man says "I am proud of my country so I would like 100m high wall built around the whole border so it shall never be invaded again" The geene say ok and the wall are built. The geene turns to the English man who is deep thought and says it your turn, he replys "I can think of many things to wish for but all of them are selfish but there is one thing I must choose for the good of all of england.....Fill that Frogs walls with water and make France the biggest lake in Europe!
PS sorry for the spelling but you get the idea

Ever been to France, Clive, or are you a common species of English life, the Parrot?
Never had a thought of your own. Just what you heard with your mom at the pub.
