Are you in your second trimester? If not, wait until your second trimester then tell him the truth. Tell him you are expecting a child and what your intentions are regarding the job. (Are you work until you give birth? Will you return after delivery? If so, how long will you be off for Maternity leave.)
I gave birth to my child 5 months after starting a new job. I returned and have been here for years.

I had to do this same thing not too long ago. I was afraid that my boss would be upset. I went into her office and was very direct. I just said, "I wanted to let you know that I am pregnant." Her reaction was different than I thought it would be. She was great about it. She said congrats and all that other stuff you tell new moms.
Just be as direct as possible.

Let him know that your pregnant but that it will not stop you from doing your job and that at the moment its not a big issue but near your 8th month(32 wk) you can discuss maternity leave
However if you just just began this job lets say less than 12 months your not entitled to any maternity pay...your entitled to the 6 weeks maternity leave but not for it to be paid
So good luck

Well you shouldnt be nervous you should be happy. Being a mother is one of the greatest gifts ever. Tell him you are willing to come back to the work when the baby is older. He should understand. God Bless!!

I would go in there prepared with some ideas on how your work will get done while you're gone. Such as, what parts of your job could be delegated to whom. This will show that you are still dedicated, and of course let him know that until you take your leave, your condition will not affect your ability to work. CONGRATULATIONS1!!!

When he asks how are you doing just say fine except for being pregnant. That's how I said it to the director. She was a bit surprised but it was the best way for me to say it.

Tell him that when your baby is born you would like to work from home because you could never ever leave your child, since separation from mommy causes terrible problems for infants, including intellectual, social, and emotional harm.

Say "I am pregnant", but if you do it in writing, make sure you spell it correctly.
