Absolutely. Oftentimes, malicious files are executable file types. For example, virus makers use .zip files to circumvent detection by antivirus software. Good antivirus software searches deep into archival file types including .zip files. Gmail, Google's popular e-mail service, and Yahoo! Mail forbids the use of executable file (e.g. .exe, .bat, .zip..) types because they are a security risk. Another example, hackers love to load malicious files on to peer-2-peer file sharing networks. Usually, they use malicious files disguised as songs or movies to entice people to download the files. A person thinks he is downloading a song which in fact is really a Trojan horse.

mp3 files would have to be extremely sophisticated, so probably not. zips, on the other hand, often have viruses in them if you get them from off the beaten track. if so, thoroughly scan them before opening them

that's achievable to get an outbreak disguised as an mp3 document, however the document maximum possibly has an exe. extension. And Limewire isn't undesirable in any respect, for sure the human beings you have talked to are green workstation customers who all have Norton downloaded onto their desktops. as long as you examine downloaded information with a great anti virus device, you need to be advantageous.
