When Chuck Norris misspells a word Merriam-Webster just changes it to the way he spelled it.

compare its spelling in different sentences.

Hell yeah, what Allie said. If it's a common word that you should know, then you'd know the dictionary makers screwed up. But... if you cross-reference other dictionaries and all say the same, then duh... there's your answer.
