Kids are impressionable. Music is influential for everyone. That's why Jon Lennon and Stevie Wonder, Public Enemy, (etc etc etc) made the radical songs they did.

When they hear the lyrics "You gonna suck it ma?" 30 times a day, performing oral sex on a guy will seem less of a big deal, When they hear, "The bride is a wh*re", it becomes okay to say and think those things about people. The kids I work with are obviously copying the rappers and rockers they listen to (and watch) you can see it in the dresses (looong tshirts) many of the boyswear, and the thick eyeliner and ripped black clothes some of the girls wear...

Some people believe that if you play complicated classical music to a woman who is pregnant, that the kid will be smarter!!!!

I don't know about that, but I do think that listening to some of the extreme hiphop music can change your attitude -- not all of it, but some is very violent -- the lyrics really are insulting and demeaning to women, to people of other races, to policemen and teachers....

on the other hand, some music is so insipid and mindless, that I think it almost hypnotizes people wholisten to it -- that would be like the modern sappy "Christian" music which doesnt say anything bad, but is so uninteresting from a music point of view that it is worse than Musak!

Some classical music, or pop music that is fun and light, probably just cheers us up. That's a good thing.

Music can cause emotion. If you listen to relaxing classical music, it can make you relax. If you listen to high energy music, like rock or some hardcore rap, it can boost your energy. Thats why a lot of guys listen to music to get pumped up for football games.

Music can alter your mood. If you listen to music with strong suggestive lyrics, it can influence young people. They hear the music (like drinking, smoking, pimpin girls, etc) and they sometimes act on it thinking its cool to do what these rappers are talking about. The same with rock and mosh pits.

It depends on the type of music, what goes in the ears stays in your mind. Like Christian music would make kids calm, peaceful, and nice but dirty rap and rock would make kids irresponsible, mean, more likely to curse and so on

ok so some music its the language in some its the lyrics if you really listen to some it shows how much tragity is in our world....hmm well some talk about suicide and ifthe person REALY likes tht singer he might go out and do wht the singer said. some might dress like the person dresses hell some songs talk about sex some listeners are REALLY devoted to there "idol" singers
