The flag is only called the Union Jack at sea, on land it is called the Union Flag

Scotland is devoloved, not independant - so the flag is still in use

If scotland were independant then we would just use the saltire i suppose - but dont forget how many commonwealth countries have the union flag in the corner - would the break up of the uk change their flags??

Devolution in the future is highly unlikely, even though some powers of government are being, and indeed already have been, devolved.

Scotland is part of the union, and that seems not to be changing, wales doesn't have an independant part in the flag as it was a seperate entity when the flag was introduced

The Union Flag would become meaningless if Scotland and Wales became separate nations - it isn't going to happen though.
