My children are exceptionally smart; but when it comes to the Weekly Reader, they have a difficult time understanding and scoring well. Can you give any suggestions on how to test on these? Mind you, they are not able to bring them home to study.

Go to www.weeklyreader.com

There are vocabulary builders for different grades on that site. Your child could study that way. And you will be able to see what type of words they are using.

When I was a child (many years ago) we brought those home all of the time. I didn't know they still had them, but what is the deal of not bringing them home? Of course perhaps my parents paid for them at the school. Who remembers after all this time.

Good luck to you. You must be an excellent parent to follow your child's school work this way. So many people don't now.
