What goes into the memory of the PC? Bits and bytes. There are 2 types of storage: temporary (memory) and permanent (hard drives, including flash drives though removable). The memory temporarily holds bits and bytes put in there for processing; those bits and bytes will be (supposedly) erased after the processing. You should add more memory since it's cheaper nowadays but make sure to buy the right type. With insufficient memory, the CPU will need to store the temporary data on the disk for processing and this will slow down everything due to resource contention. Adding memory is the cheapest way to speed things up.

Memory is erased each time you turn off the computer. It's temporary storage space for when the computer is on and you're using a program. Add more RAM (memory) or close down apps that are running in the background in order to free up more RAM. If you computer runs out of RAM during it's use, it will allocate some of your hard drive space to temporarily act like RAM.

Nothing is saved in RAM memory. It is used to process files and data in programs that are currently running. What you want to do is free up RAM by turning off some of the processes that are using it. The best thing to do is to buy more RAM. It's relatively cheap, usually about $50 for 512 MB. If you don't want to cough up the cash, turn off some of the programs that windows is using in the background, and that will free up some of your RAM memory for the programs you are actually using.

Everything you have open. Programs, files, Windows, but it has to be in use at that time. It isn't a matter of deleting, just not using.

Low memory errors are nearly always a sign of a virus. So you probably want to look for that.

u can't clean main memory by removing files as u do to clear HDD.
In order to regain/recover waste memory u have to defrag ur memory and for that various tools a available.

I use System Mechanic 6.0 & its a best rated s/w.
u can search for "Iolo system mechanic 6.0" in http://www.9down.com and on google search for its crack.
Its a fine total PC maintanance utility s/w.

You need to examine your startup files to see what is being run at startup. You can use the windows utility msconfig to manage the startup, but the startup manager tool included with Spybot Search and Destroy is much better.
