My boyfriend and I have been together for over a year but we have known each other for it seems like forever. We have a really good relationship and we are able to work through our problems (the little that we have) easily by talking them through. It just seems like everyone is jumping into marriage (my sister got engage three months after knowing a guy for only about four in total) and everyone seems to be asking us when are we going to get married. They have even started calling us husband and wife. I'm not sure if I want to get married right now and I love him, I'm just wondering how soon is to soon?

It has nothing to do with time. I went with my first husband for over a year before we got married. It didn't work out. I met my second husband the last week in June moved in with him in August, and we got married on Christmas Eve. That was in 1985. We are still married and going strong.

It varies from person to person. You get married when you're ready. Marriage is serious and you don't want to jump into something that you know you're goiong to regret in the long run. So it seems like you're headed in the right direction so far. Just take your time and you two will know when it's time for marriage.

As long as you are not ready it's too soon. You shouldn't feel pressured by family and friends and I would ask them to stop referring to you as a married couple because it might scare your boyfriend away provided he's not ready.

You'll know when it's right for you.. it's different for everyone... my best friend parents new each other for 4 weeks before they got marreid.. they have been together now for 35+ years.. My mother knew/dated/lived with her husbadn for 10 years before they got married... it's all over the board... there's no right answer.

It all depends on the couple. I met my hubby and we dated for 2 months before getting married. we are on our 28th year and its still great!
