I think all schools in America should be uniform. This will help prevent teasing and other problems faced to kids in public school.

I left compulsory school a couple of years ago, but there were some pretty crappy rules
1 You couldn't wear jewellery , unless for religious reasons, such a rosary. Stud earrings HAD TO be removed, not covered up.
2 The top had to be bought from a really specific shop, or had to be the exact same blue colour if from anothershop.
3 The tie we wore had to be at least 6in long when tied, and the rest of it was tucked into the shirt. They also banned people putting badges on their ties.
4 No mini-skirts.
5 You had to bring the sweatshirt even in summer, and also during exam periods.
6 The girls weren't allowed to wear tracksuit bottoms until third year, but the boys could from first year. We wore gymskirts, which were drafty.
7 The shoes had to be all black 'proper' shoes, unless a doctors note was provided saying you couldn't wear them, say for a broken ankle.
8 The swimming caps had to be school logo ones, and had to be blue or black.
9 Our gym socks had to be white.
10 No high heels bigger than 1 1/2 in. The heel also couldnt be less than 1/2 cm wide either.
11 If we had PE last, we had to get changed, even though I went home and got changed anyway.
In Britain, where I'm at now, most schools have a uniform.

When I was in high school, the worst part of the dress codes 1) Very restrictive of that fashionable time. What was in fashion was not allowed on school grounds. 2) Racism, it was at the time where hispanics and colored girls would wear these cute tops, but I have the same one on and I am told to change it. Not them. So, it caused a major race debate, since it was going on at other schools than mine. Major community issue.

I don't have dress code now. But my middle school had one. We could only wear navy, white, or khaki, with no logos or anything. The thing I hated about it was that there just wasn't any variety. I like putting together ridiculous outfits sometimes, and I was deprived of that. Also, it meant buying extra clothes just for school, which wasted money, since I never wore any of those clothes anywhere else. It's just a pain to have to dress identical to everyone else.

gown codes are super a uniform or handbook is mostly a plus because of the fact the youngsters get their concentration off of the fashions and back to the study. youngsters like to tease and a few youngsters in non gown code colleges get teased because of the fact their mothers and fathers can no longer have adequate money the main contemporary fashions then there is the deviant crowd that places outfits on boys and canines collars on ladies. Or the ghetto youngsters who placed on $one hundred denims$ 2 hundred tennis footwear, and get a unfastened lunch as their mothers and fathers say they cant have adequate money them.Nope we want gown codes

Here is our dress code for a public middle school:
No tank tops, spagetti straps, tube tops, or halters.
No shorts about the knees.
Nothing that advertises drugs, alcohol, tobacco, or cigarettes.
No bandanas.
No hats.
No pajama slippers or pajama pants.
No flip-flops.
No mini-skirts (Even with the leggings.)
No chains longer than eighteen inches.
No shirts/jerseys hanging around the neck
and stupid stuff like that. We get send back home and get suspended if we don't follow it........oh yeah.....guys can't wear muscle shirts........no jackets in the classrooms unless they are FITTED sweatshirts.......nothing showing "underclothes". Its really dumb.

I'm not in school anymore, but I remember my senior year, they changed the dress code so that girls couldn't wear spaghetti strap tank tops, so all us senior girls one day wore spaghetti strap tops...it was funny.
Nowadays, all schools may as well have uniforms. They outlaw pretty much everything anyway.

Nothing.
Ours is basic. Just no hats, no hoods, no bad shirts, don't show too much skin, no drug things, no swears, nothing inappropriate.
I think the worst is that you can't wear tank tops with straps less than two inches, but that's not even bad at all. (my tank was only one inch OOPS OH SNAP)

I have to wear a skirt that is below my knee when I am sitting or standing, nothing can have writing on it, it can't be layered, it can't be wrinkled, it can't be low-cut, it can't be tight, it has to be modest, when you raise your hand, your stomach can't be showing, you have to have sleeves, no sundresses or anything like that, no slits in your skirts, no designs, nothing that draws attention to a girls chest, no more than 2 piercings for a girl, none for guys, guys hair has to be short, guys can't wear jewelry, TOO MANY RESTRICTIONS!
