You may have to reinstall the operating system. Are there any other user accounts on the computer for which you know the password? What operating system is it?

Fortunately, Microsoft has included several backdoors to solving this problem.... unfortunately, hackers sometimes use it too....
*******
>Make sure that you have a keyboard that plugs into your MOUSE port (green) on the back of your PC. USB will not work!
>Turn on your computer
>Repeatedly press F8 (really fast) until a screen filled with words appears (if this doesn't work, you stopped pressing it too early.... start over, but keep pressing it until you get to a screen that has lots of options on it)
>Using the arrow keys, select 'Safe Mode'
>Press 'enter'
>Your computer may start with a different resolution (screen size) than you're used to... that's OK
>If you have Win XP w/ welcome screen, click on "Administrator"
>If you have a username / password box, type: "administrator" in the 'username' box, and click 'OK' (no password)
>This should let you log onto your computer without a password.
>After everything loads, click 'start'
>Go to the 'control panel' (hopefully, you know how to do this)
>Go to 'user accounts'
>Click your account (or the one needing a password reset)
>Change the password
*******
Now you should be done. Close everything and restart your computer normally. Log onto your account using your new password
*******
NOTE: It wouldn't be a waste of time to create a 'password recovery disk' (you need a floppy disk drive) For instructions on a 'password reset disk', go to the help & support section of your computer.
I hope this helps
GOOD LUCK!

Password Clear (J9C1-D)
http://www.uktsupport.co.uk/pb/mb/760.htm
This jumper is for clearing the password if the password is forgotten. The default setting is pins 2-3, (password enabled). To clear the password, turn off the computer, move the jumper to pins 1-2, and turn on the computer. Then turn off the computer, and return the jumper to pins 2-3 to restore normal operation. If the jumper is in the 1-2 position (password disabled), you cannot set a password.

this is a good one. You might need to call customer service, or restar the manufacture settings (this is a little complecated and it takes a long time, that is why it is better to contact customer service).
