DIfficult one that. For a non american you lot never have been good guys. The pilgrim fathers were a bunch of religious zealots (nothing changed there then, check out your ruling elite)who were chased out of europe for their extreme and unacceptable views. It was go or be killed.
In the second world war although many brave americans volunteered to help the british, the state of america refused to get involved in any way other than doing business....at extortionate rates. The US only got involved after pearl harbour. Then the US commited the greatest atrocity ever by dropping not one but TWO atom bombs on Japan.Something that to this day no country has managed to duplicate.
Your countries foreign policy to non oil rich arab countries is what provoked 911. Your illegal war on iraq.....nice way to start the 21st century guys, the age of civilised man......the same old barbarism as always just a bit more technical.....
Good guys? Get real.

When everyone had to whine about the whole war thing... People don't see that we need to get stuff done or the fact that it's made it better for a very oppressed people... The media pounds the Hell out of the bad things that do happen over there, and gives barely any airtime to the good things, so everyone assumes that there is more bad than good (hint: the media does not like George W Bush... So they try to make everything he does look like the worst mistake ever done by a president, because they're all democrats...)

We have our failings and weaknesses, but we are still the good guys. I don't really care what the French, the Germans, the Russians, the Chinese, the Iranians, the Syrians, the Cubans, the Venezuelans, Hollywood, or the "almighty" American fourth estate have to say. When I hear their sanctimonious, self-serving, hypocritical rhetroic, I say to myself, "Consider the source."

We became the bad guys a long time ago maybe Viet Nam was the start of it I am not sure. but when our pres. start's a war in another country for no reason and than gets all the other countries involved and tell's the world it will be his way or no way, what do you think the rest of the world is going to think, that we are bullies because we have the big bomb and no one else does, and they know we could blow them off the face of the earth if we had to,AND THAT MAKES US THE BAD GUY'S.

Americans perceive themselves in the world today as being holier than thou, that no matter what we do and where we do it, we will be received graciously. The truth is were not. We stopped being the good guy a long, long, time ago.

I think we're still the good guys. The libs hate Bush more than they love our country -- they'd rather betray our collective best interests if doing so will help them to get elected.
Speaking of Bush... I'm no big fan myself, but I think with respect to the defining issue of the day -- the war against islamo-fascism... he's 100% right.

We stopped being the good guys a long time ago.
We stopped being the good guys when the industrial war machine took over our government and decided thats the way to make money. We stopped being the good guys when oil was discovered. We have never been the good guys. We have always been the better at hiding our evil ways guys.

I think it was about 1946. We, as Americans, have been fed a line of BS ever since telling us how great we are. I have never been to Europe and not seen an anti-american demonstration.
