It feels like someone rubbed sand in my eyes and they are really sore. I am afraid to put anything in then right now. What will work?

It sounds like you have dry eyes the best thing for you to do is to keep it lubricated try using artificial tears from visine or if its really bad try systane refresh or celluvisc they kind of have an oily type consistency that helps keep your eyes lubricated for a long time

yes, get a cucumber get 4 slices ; put them in the freezer for about 10 minutes. lay down and put 2 slices on each eye; it will be very cold at first; just lift them up a bit , at fist is uncomfortable , then after a few minutes press them down, you can put them in the freezer again and repeat the same over again apply the next day for about 3 days, you will see the difference.
i hope this will help you ,as much as it have helped me. Have a good day!

Try purchasing a pair of non-prescriptive glasses for extra protection. I would also suggest that you not rub your eyes because a) it will make things worse and b) it will transfer germs and foreign matter to your eye. I would also recommend purchasing some Refresh Liquigel or eye drops geared to refresh, moisten your eyes.
