LESSON #1 In order to achieve the reduction of 02 levels the Kyoto agreement requires, the USA would have to reduce it's PROJECTED energy use by 25% and 60% globally. HOW do you propose we do that without ruining worldwide economy?

LESSON #2 Kyoto is EXPENSIVE. Cutting emissions would amount to $100 BILLION to $400 BILLION per year.

LESSON #3 The worse polluting countries such as China, India and Mexico would be EXEMPT from Kyoto.

LESSON # 4 The "Carbon Taxes" will cause losses in the POOREST 1/5 of the population because they spend more of their income on necesseities and have fewer ways to cut back higher living cost expensives. (typical of a Lib/Dem move, tax the poor more)

CONCLUSION: Signing the Kyoto treaty would make US PRIVATE industry "answerable" to the "global community". If the UN sets the evriomental standards, what will stop them from using their authority to set other guidlines, such as descrimination laws and imposition of global taxes?

The US does NOT have to enter into any treaty which permits foreign organizations to regulate private industry. The Kyoto violates American liberty.

If you knew why the it was voted down in the states..because of the wording and the horrible legislation in entailed, you wouldn't be asking such a stupid question. Do you homework next time and don't just knee jerk follow the America Haters who use buzz words and phrases like "World's Police" and "Kyoto Protocol".
The vast majority of America is soundly pro-environment, deeply concerned about the amount of emissions, amount of fuel used, etc.. but world wide protocols need to be sound and lasting, not pandering and near-sighted.

No, Algore did sign the Kyoto Protocol. Our Senate rejected it by a vote of 99-0.

Oh, and that treaty wouldn't have done anything to undo the Global Warming myth anyway. It only called for the US to pay shakedown money to the gangster nations of the world. Sorry you didn't get your share.

And we had every right to not sign that piece of crap paper. It made no sense. China who is the worse offender in the world was not even a part of it. Our standards are tighter than most of the world and we would have been paying most of the money for it. This was just another scam to bilk Americans. So take the Kyoto treaty and stuff it.

And we would accept a treaty with the sole purpose of destroying the American economy for what reason?
Guess I don't understand the question.
