Well it may be the onset of Tinnitus a condition I suffer from, which is usually a ringing or static noise that occurs in one or both ears. However do not be alarmed as it is quite normal for you to get this shortly after leaving a loud environment, e.g, a nightclub, and should go after a short while, if symptoms persist i'd recommend seeing your doctor, just to be safe, who should be able to diagnose whats wrong and take appropriate action. I have a ringing noise permanently in both ears and had to see a hearing specialist and therapist to help me. I'm sure though that your'e o.k, hope that helps you.

It's just a muscle tensing in your ear, it pulls on nerves or the eardrum itself, and seems to make a sound. It's not, really, but that's how your brain interprets it. It happens to a lot of people, much like other muscular twitches.

If it were longer lasting than a few seconds, I'd suspect tinnitus, but tinnitus doesn't 'go away,' it just becomes less evident with other sounds, so you don't notice it. If it truly stops after a few seconds, it cannot be tinnitus.

If the Tinnitis just started you may be able to reverse it. Find an ENT doc inyour area and see them about it. Sometimes if you catch the tinnitis early they can give you a round of decadron and that may reverse it. But on the other hand if you listen to alot of loud music...just forget it. Loud music will kill your ear over time.
