Joes Pretzels will increase salt content by 50%. Currenly one bag is being sold at 1.09 with a .11 profit on each bag sold. The additional salt will increase production cost by .04 per bag. Last quarter, they sold 2.4 million bags. Assuming price of the product remains, if they increase to 50% more salt, how many additional bags will they have to sell to have same profit?

If they don't raise the price of a bag, then each bag will bring 4 cents less profit, or 7 cents instead of 11. If you're only making 7/11 the profit per bag, you need to sell 11/7 many bags to make the same total profit. Just multiply 2.4 million bags by 11/7.
