what is the difference between body spray and body mist? what is it good for? and how do you smell good without over doing the scent? you know.. just enough for that "sexy" type of smell.

THe thing is... i brought this expensive body MIST. i can't return it because i used it up, but i wore it today, and my friends said they couldn't smell anything on me. Do i put it on more? i don't want to buy perfume. but i want to smell good when you stand next to me. Help please!!!!

Body spray comes in a pressurized can giving a "steam" of scent when the button is pressed, while body mist tends to be in a bottle with a pump, giving droplets of scent. Perfume is generally way more concentrated, and you only need a little bit of it on certain pulse points on your body (behind the ears, in the crook of your arms, on your wrists, etc).

Apply the mist after you've bathed or showered, but give your skin some time to cool off. If your skin is still too warm, it'll cause the scent to evaporate all the faster. The traditional way of applying mist is to spray the air with two or three squirts and then step into the droplets as they fall towards the ground (keep your eyes closed, otherwise, OUCH!). This way, you get an even coating without getting your skin saturated with the stuff. The trick is to not reek of perfume, but someone standing very close to you should get a subtle whiff of it. Put it directly on your skin, not on your clothes. Wait a while before you get dressed.

Make sure the scent doesn't clash with any other scent you're wearing (like lotion or perfume or deoderant). Generally, it's best to have one scent for the summer (a slightly stronger one), when you sweat more, and one for the winter (a more subtle, less obtrusive one), when you generally sweat less.

Also, scents can smell different on different people. So if something smells good on one person, doesn't automatically mean it'll smell as nice or noticable on someone else. That's why you should always test a scent on your own skin before buying.

You can try using a little more of the mist, or try applying it directly to your skin, but it might also only be noticable once you start sweating.

There's probably no difference between a body spray and body mist. Body sprays and body mists probably do not have a very high concentration of the oils and chemicals that give the scent it's scent. They probably have a lot of alcohol which evaporates on your skin and the scent goes away faster. It depends on the maker. The more expensive, tiny bottles of real perfume are stronger so you need to use less. (They sometimes have oils and essences of real flowers in high concentration.) Eau de Parfum or Calogne is a bit more diluted with alcohol, and I think body sprays or mists are even more diluted.
