Well, it typically takes more than 4 months for the average woman (one who isn't a model or actress that can afford the nanny so they can work out 18 hours a day) to lose the weight she gained while pregnant. My wife is still working off the weight from her pregnancy and it's been over a year now. But, we don't have the time to devote to keeping in shape since we have real jobs. haha!

As for feeling bad about your weight, you shouldn't. You need to remember that you were an important part in the miracle of life, in that you created a whole new person. The downside, is that it does things to your body that you don't really like (stretch marks, weight, etc.), but you did a very wonderful thing that you should be proud of. You should wear those stretch marks and extra weight with pride. Those helped create your little bundle of joy.

As for what to wear? Go shopping and buy something that fits you now. What does your husband like about you? I absolutely love my wife's butt and when she wears something that shows off her butt, that's all that matters to me. :)

If you are worried about other people not understanding about you still having some extra weight, do you really want those people as friends who don't like you for who you are?

Okay Girl!!!!! You can't feel bad about your wheight when you have a 4 month old baby! NO WAY!
With that said, (I don't know how your budget is) but if you can splurge, drop the baby off with your mom's or the Daddy, or the sitter, & then go get your hair done, nails ect whatever else you like about yourself, & then go to a store & get you some cute clothes that fit ( make sure you wear the right size...don't buy pre preg. size when you know you can't fit) trust me don't feel bad about a bigger size cause noone will look at your tags and clothes that fit right make you actually look smaller then you really are! So wear something that makes you feel good, surprise party sounds like some cute jeans & a pair of impecable shoes with a cute top....
Congrats to the baby & have fun!

To answer your title question, on occasion someone will make a comment on the cack i have grow a bit of a belly (not too much), I just pat it and say "I hope it's twins". (naturally it's totally impossible as i'm a guy).

To answer the second question, simply go to the local store, find something you like and wear that to this party.... Or if it's a clothing optional party (one never knows....) wear nothing.

Borrow something, buy something. Don't get depressed, get busy! Use your baby as a weight and work out! It will give you good time together and solve your problem! Put baby on your chest and do situps, on your legs and do leg lifts, hold baby and lower to floor doing toe touches, arms out straight holding baby and do arm lifts! Action will make you feel better now and results will keep you feeling that way! Congrats and best of luck!
