same as to why they sterilize needles for other injections. They are still human beings for goodness sake

Because there is a period of time between the insertion of the needle and the injection of the chemicals when the condemned could still receive a last-minute reprieve or even pardon if new evidence comes to light. Having them end up infected in such a case would be cruel.

Are you sure they do? in the movies using a pad hides the fact they never push it in and absorbs gels used for the FX of an injection before they roll off! Same with injecting into a tube 'it's just FX!'

The US does not allow cruel and unusual punishments... therefore they have to sterilize it.

they need to use a rusty needle! .........mabye for the safty of the needle handler! we are to soft with murder's,child lovers!!!! we dont use lethal injections enought for people like this!!!!!!! kill them!!!! slow, very slow!

it's because even though the person is being put to death they have to treat him with kindness, respect and humanity.
