Documentaries are supposed to be made from true life. However, they are not fully fact! The producer can put their own little twist in them to make them reflect an "opinion". But many people will take them as fact, as they are about real life.
They aren't all important. Only the ones that reflect as much truth as possible. The ones that are "tainted" are no good.

A documentary documents information on a person, place, thing, or occurrence. They're important because that information is compiled and presented for everyone to see. It keeps that knowledge around and keeps that knowledge going. Just think about it.

because the let us see how other people live.. what they face.. how they learn... they teach us..they enlighten us.. and they entertain us.. .. they show us hope.. depair.. resilience.. friendship.. love.. evil.. they are a window into humanity..
