Whats up with this 7 year itch I hear about? Question for people being married at least that long. Did you go through it? After 7 years you all of a sudden wanted to see what else was about?

You should go to the health department for that, they can give you a cream to will clear that right up... I would get a divorce if my wife gave me a seven year itch.

I do not think it matters on how long you have been married. I will be married for 7 years in November and me and my husband do not want to see what is out there. I think as time goes by the marriage should be even stronger. I think the 7 year itch is like breaking a mirror, you are not going to have seven years of bad luck. People find every excuse in the book to cheat. Your either a cheater or your not.

In this day and age, it isn't so much the 7 year itch anymore. It's the time when one or both in a marriage wonder if things will get any better. A time that the grass always seem greener on the other side of the fence. A time when people start questioning their place in the marriage.

That is not quite what it is. There are a few points in a long term relationship where the relationship goes through a problem period. Relationships are not stagnant, but always evolving and growing entities. Just like we humans have our growth patterns and evolve as we grow, so to does our relationships. What is occurring is natural, and if both partners are aware these times will occur they can be ready to deal with them head on, altering the chance of either one turning outside the relationship to get needs met. Turning outside of a relationship never is a good sign for the future of that relationship. Answers only lie within relationships between the two partners, not between the outside world and the partners. Unless it is a counselor who is helping out, that is very different. Just be aware there are periods relationships may become difficult and troubled. Each time the couple weathers one the relationship grows stronger, the bond deeper, and the more vital the relationship becomes. Grow with your spouse not away from your spouse. Just be aware these times will come and be prepared to circle the wagons so to speak and work on the issues together, with openness and honesty. That will see any relationship through the hardest times. Be ready to respond to the needs of your spouse, to allow yourself and your partner the room to breathe and grow. Suport one another in all things and you both will be fine. Good luck. Oh, I have been through fourteen year marriage until my husband widowed me. I stayed a single parent ten years until they were raised and now am marrying once again, to the most wonderful man in the world. However, had my husband not died we would still be together today.

Actually what you're talking about is many people believe that if you can make it together for 7 years; through all the bad, all that's good, and everything that life may bring in that time frame, that there is nothing in life the two of you together can't possibly handle! If you stay together for 7 years you're more than likely gonna have a prosperous marriage!

I think the 7 year itch is all in peoples head, think back 8 years ago. then ask yourself were would i be. something had to have brought you together. hold on to that when you start to ? your marriage.

I think it stems from the "comfort zone"! By the end of seven years, you have become very comfortable with each other and to often this leads to boredom; if you and your spouse do not attempt to keep your sex life interesting.

It is not a law and it is not biological. Just work on keeping her happy and she should respond with the same. Let the other guy go looking to get scratched.
