No, some receive propaganda that makes them hate,
some are misinformed
some generalize hatred of a few (Bush etc) to all Americans and stereotype,
some are informed of the atrocities we have done (ie-overthrows and assassinations of democratically elected leaders and massive use of dangerous depleted uranium, etc) and hate us for the evil we have done,
some (generally liberals and protesters) are assumed to hate the US by conservatives when in actuality, they are patriots wanting their country to be all it should be,
some may have had a bad experience with an American/s
Many disagree with our recent policies.
Not to be mean, but it is people who assume that everyone who disagrees with them is stupid that actually is. In truth, life is more complex than that. It is a human tendency to want to narrow things down and stereotype to enhance their understanding when they can't see nuances and complexities well.

I don't think they're stupid at all. We have been causing some havoc throughout the world, and everyone, no matter what country they live in, should be entitled to their own opinion. After Bush went into Iraq without U.N. approval, a lot of the world became unhappy with our government's decisions. Keep in mind that Iraq is A LOT closer to Europe than it is to us. I traveled to Europe in 2004, and found that even though they were in disagreement with the U.S. government, I was still treated very well as an American.
Some of the citizens of other countries are told from a very young age that America signifies everything that is wrong in the world. This is an opinion, but it is one that is forced upon them throughout their entire life, and they have never had any other options to believe. We should consider ourselves lucky that we live in a place where we can learn or teach pretty much whatever we want, but that does not make us better than anyone else, nor does it make the rest of the world stupid. We should just count our lucky stars that we have the freedoms that we do, and not look down on anyone. Just remember....we are ALL the human race.

No they are not stupid. People are just misinformed and have their own opinions. You cant judge them to say they are stupid.
You also have to think that they are different cultures and may not agree with the things we do. HECK we dont even agree with some of the things our government does. But we understand that not everyone here backs up everything our government does. While others countrys may not.
We also have a lot of really crazy things that go on here, murders, divorce, strikes, and all sorts of other things that other countrys see as really bad.
So they see in the news the same things we see, what the press wants them to see, not always the truth or the real people.
So in short, they are not stupid.

They are probably referring not to the people of the USA, but the government, and there are plenty of us Americans that do NOT like the government much no matter who's in power because its run by bureaucrats that do weird things like have roads built that don't connect anything using a lot of U.S. Taxpayer's money... Democrat, Republican - they both have their scoundrel's. I still think that the USA is the best place to live in the world but when you are dealing with 300,000,000 people there's bound to be differences of opinion.

A lot of people have hated the US during history. George Washington hated it, so he changed it to something much better, and so have many other presidents and civilians in smaller and greater scale after that. These people aren't stupid, they're just thinking differently and daring the status quo. Let's be honest, racism, hatred, violence, corruption, irresponsibility and intolerance are major traits of the American way of thinking, hence we call homosexuals fa.gs, blacks ***.gers, we shoot the Mexicans when they cross the border in Arizona, we let the president tap our phone lines, we decide we're not liable for over 400 billion dollars worth of war-debt, we call our killers heroes and their killers terrorists, and we can't understand there's reasons for people to dissagree with the gov's decisions because doing otherwise is Anti-American. It's not ignorant to say the "rebels" are stupid, it is simply having way too much information of the wrong kind in our media, but we're too blind to see it.

There is a world of difference in hating the USA and hating the bush administration for it's completely short sighted policies and ham handed tactics. Our country and it's liberal citizens are well liked it's the republicans and there twisted beliefs that are so hated overseas.

Some people don't like pompous, arrogant, bullying know-it-alls that sell you down the river!! American businesses have been skipping around the world finding all the resources that the Bush regime can clarify as in our national interests. Well, it's nice to collect things and have the biggest pile, but don't be surprised if others don't like it.

No, a lot of people hate the usa because we have a lot of stupid, ignorant people, and I agree, the US have given other people a reason not to like us. But I don't agree with the fact that other people would hate us so much as to kill a bunch of innocent people. Now that is just stupid.

Why do Americans think we hate them?
I think the U.S people think we Iranians hate them but as far as I can see all Iranians including me love them.I live in Iran myself. We just don't agree with their government's policies."Be with us or you're a terrorist!"This is stupid!Right?I just don't get the point why Americans hate us.Surly because of lies and propaganda they have heard and they are still hearing against us.If I were them I would collect all these media and Bush's lies, put all of them in a box and throw them away! There would be no conflicts anymore!

when people say they don't like the us they mean its current policies. it has nothing to do with their IQ. I live in the US and I love living here but our foreign policies are out of whack. as is a lot of our internal policy. like the cutting of student loans so we can have a larger army. doesnt that make us stupid since many kids dont get to go to college? i dont expect you care much for anyone else besides yourself. yep thats capitalism.
