Pakistan has harbored terrorist for decades.
So yes, I do believe him.
I also think that too many people do not see the value in forceful negotiations. If your neighbor was kicking your dog, wouldn't you threaten some retaliation if he did not comply with your orders to stop doing it?

Armitage (the State Dept guy who he's talking about) says that he didn't say it really like that - that Musharef's translation may have been harsher than he said. However, Armitage acknowledges that he was VERY HARSH in his delivery of the message.
The media isn't ignoring this at all - it's airing on 60 Minutes this Sunday.
Musharef is in a tight spot, but I'll tell you this - had Pakistan NOT pledged cooperation, it was definitely going to get ugly, somehow... maybe via India, maybe from us directly, and then China would have been in play. And I don't think we'd have had a lot of choice but to press Musharef extremely hard.

Musharraf has taken considerable liberty with his words when he said that. What was said was that the US would bomb any country that was harboring Bin Laden. These words were not from the President either, they were from one of his minions. Musharraf I believe has made a grave error in judgment. But it's not the first time we've seen ignorance come out of a predominantly Muslim country.
Musharraf is mad because we wouldn't help him develop his nuclear weapons. We stopped all that work when we found out that the technology was going right to Iran and North Korea and Musharraf had egg all over his face.

I do believe it. Scary, isn't it?
Why would someone that has an "average" relationship with a country (at best) suddenly drop something on the world like that? There is nothing to gain, is there?
And did you hear Bush's response to it?? Again Colin Powell ends up being the scape goat for the administration. I am beginning to think that anything that comes out of Bush's mouth is a LIE! I mean, come on - even a crookid politician tells the truth some of the time, don't they?
By the way - aren't you supposed to be at work right now?? ;)

Why is that so hard to believe? Bush said if your not against the terrorists you are with them. Oh, and then there was the Axis of Evil. I think Bush would destroy any country to get what he wants.
