Why are men judged negatively by society if they choose to be single?

I wasn't aware that society judged single-by-choice males in a negative way, I thought it was mostly females that were judged to be somehow inferior if they were single over a certain age!

For example,compare the imagery conjured up by the actual words used to describe males and females who are single - ie. bachelor versus spinster. Bachelor sounds like a carefree, funloving, adventurous type whereas spinster brings images of an oldish, miserable crone!

It is interesting to hear that you guys feel you are being judged in this way nowadays though! I wonder if many guys feel this way?

Beacause women think that men who are single, therefore don't need women, so they are judged by that. also if your a single somehow in this weird world, people can judge you beacause they think that maybe your too much of a jerk to handle someone or whatever. or that you were too busy to care about anyone else, those factors apply aswell. Me, personally think that single people help the world beacause there are too many guys out there for all the girls, or to many girls out there for all the guys. single people help bring a balance, and they don't have as many bad problems and conflicts as married people.
