You want the simple answer of the geopolitical answer? It was too good an excuse not to use to topple Saddam, who had been a thorn in daddy's side and alledgly tried to kill daddy. Though there were also valid reasons to topple Saddam and, if successful, would have made the US a major presense in the MIddle east, which would have struck of the fear of god in the region. Unfortunately, it doesn't appear to have been successful.
Osama is actually a minor player in the current little melodrama, and lest you forget, as long as Osama is at large, George can basically push for whatever action he deems required to find him. Including curtailing liberties and torture.

They had Osama at one point but lost him due to incompetence. I think if we grab him...then there would be more pressure to leave the countries we are trying to help and they are not stable enough for that. The Taliban and the civil unrest in Iraq are issues that need to be solved before we pull out. The war machine will run and run hard regardless of what anyone says or does because it is more powerful than any single government. This drive to kill and control is born deep in the evolution of MAN and will not change unless or until WOMEN rule the world.

The Bush administration had to invade Iraq earlier they even took workplace. Bush observed how his father's popularity rose after Operation wasteland typhoon. He thought that a militia victory might supply him the political capital to enable him to pursue his time table, consisting of the privatization of Social protection. And Dick Cheney needed us to invade Iraq for its oil supplies. His potential committee grew to become into finding at maps of Iraq's oil fields earlier 9/11 even passed off.

Because the president in his ultimate wisdom decided that we had spent sooooo much money and risked sooooo many American lives that we could not come home empty handed, and seeing that Osama was unobtainable, he would go for the next best thing. This way he (Bush) would feel like he was a winner, even though the rest of us know what a loser he really is.

Yeah. Funny that he can escape our sophisticated technologically equipped agents in that pile of rocks and sand?? However, Americans can be proud that we are forcing others to do what's good for them. When the whole world is under democracy than we can all make a lot of money and everyone will be happy.

I think people like you are naive and I will tell you why we spent 4 years looking for the Olympic park bomber even though we new what part of NC he was hiding and even with all of technolgy it took a cop that accidentally caught him going through a dumpster another example is the Una-bomber it took 10 years and only because his brother turned him in so my friend it;s not as simple as you think.
