Nope. The Bush administration has a third grade mentality when it comes to foreign nations that he doesn't agree with.

We ARE Americans from the United States of America (that is what all text books I ever studied or taught from teaches)...

And NO, we do not all agree on all of our government's policies. We have a two party system (basically) where we vote for the people of the party we most agree with. Within the party who wins, not every one agrees with what policies are made. For Instance, even the members of the two houses of Congress do not agree. Fortunately, we have a policy of 'checks & balances' so that one branch of government can support or not support policies made by another branch or the people of one branch can support or not support polices in the making.

So no, not all Americans agree with the policies of the government, nor do all the members & leaders of the government agree on the policies. Hopefully however, the majority agree on what is good policy. It can be very simple & at the same time very complicated...there are whole books written on this issue.

I am an American...even I don't understand all of how it works & no, I most certainly do not agree with all our policies. In fact, we can, & I can, get pretty upset about some of them. But still, this is my country, & I will defend & support it to my dying day. There IS a lot of good here & people die trying to defend & protect our people & our freedoms...& the ideals this country stands for.

I don't agree with a lot of things pertaining to our government. I don't agree with out sourcing and sending all of the jobs over to cheaper countries while there are millions of unemployed people here within the U.S.(with a great number of those people being homeless) I think that our number one priority should be helping the citizens of our country before we pledge billions in aid to other countries. Don't get me wrong we should help other countries...especially those that are experiencing economic hardships where the people are living below the poverty line, and also the countries being devastated by AIDS..... But only after we have helped our citizens first. We have way too much money circulating around within our country for people to be going hungry and being homeless and not even being able to afford health care. We have no business invading other countries or telling them how to run their own government. I'm not saying we turn a blind's eye to what's happening globally. But while we are focused on what everyone else is doing our country is deteriorating around us. I don't think people realize how bad things are really getting. It's sad too because we have the capability and the potential to fix these things and make our country even stronger and more unified. I'm not even gonna get started on our environment since that is a lost cause.

Some yes and some no. Nobody ever agrees with all the policies of any government.

No - I personally don't agree at all with the United States Government.

I think that they've made PLENTY of mistakes, especially concerning the war in Iraq. Other countries need to be aware that the Government does not necessarily represent the opinions of it's own people. Given our way, we would not be in the situation that we currently are, thanks to our Government.

Thank you for the chance to hear (our) the Peoples' opinions.

Have a lovely rest of the day.

Some policies, yes; some policies, no.

The beautiful thing about America is that people don't get beheaded or blown up just because they have a bug up you know what about a certain policy. Democracy is not perfect, but it's the best system there is.

Generally, I'd say no, as far as this present Administration is concerned.

But "policies" covers a lot of ground....! Some things remain faorly constant from one Presidential administration to the next, others change. So it'd be good to know just which policies you mean!

Some policies-yes; others-no

OK, OK, ELI, I get your point. But in common parlance, America means the U.S.A. The term "America" is so commonly used to connote "U.S.A." that one would have to copy and paste the same argument ad nauseum just to get an obvious point across. Why bother?

I assume you are asking about American foreign policy.

I thoroughly disagee with American foreign policy. America uses brute force, employing merciless violence, to achieve its objectives. For example, it arms Israel to the hilt and gives it the green light to break its enemies by terrorizing, maiming, and killing children. America behaves as if it truly believes that, in God's eyes, some people are superior to other people.

And after half a million Iraqi children are intentionally starved to death, how many heads in Washington will roll? Not one.

Most American's are held hostage, yet they are unaware of their own intellectual and moral captivity. They rationalize the American use of brute force by swallowing the myriad Red Herrings that folks who support powerful countries toss around. For example, to justify the slaughter of children, some commonly used Red Herrings are "We must fight terrorism," "They have a right to defend themselves," "They have a right to exist," "They are a sovereign Nation," "He is a Dictator," "He killed his own people," or "They have been persecuted for so many years."

In my opinion, it is where Reason fails that Force prevails. America will never give this opinion a passing thought because its ability to reason is far surpassed by its ability to use brute force.

Not all of them, do you believe in your government's policies

2006-09-22 06:48:13 · answer #10 · answered by micheleh29 6 · 0 0

Some I do...some I don't. Anybody who tells you that they agree (or disagree) with "all" of their government's policies, is a liar.
