Greed. Everyone wants more, or something someone else has got, so why not go out and kill for it? I should say this is the propensity of males more than females.

Because some of our kind piss us off. I agree, most people don't want death and suffering. But many people still value other things more highly than stopping death and suffering. An example is religious terrorists. If we could convince everyone that stopping death and suffering is the most important thing any human can do and the highest goal of life, then we'd probably live in a very different world. In a way, religion is to blame because it teaches that there are more important things than earthly suffering - then the followers of religion are willing to cause suffering in the name of those ideals. That's not to say religion is the only party at fault. Anyone who is willing to inflict suffering in the name of some other ideal is at fault.

Wars are essential to reduce the human burden on this earth.
It is foolish to think that man can go on multiplying and occupying even the areas allotted to other forms of life by destroying them. A day will surely come when the saturation point is reached. The present approach of nations is let other people get killed at least my people are safe. To day USA is feared because of its accumulation of maximum atomic war heads.China is trying to equalize Us and even Korea and Iran are not behind.

I think it is because we convince ourselves that our intentions are honorable and our goals just. Some people do it for wealth, wanting money and not caring how many people die to get it. Some people desire power like the Caesers of the past, having the ultimate force of life and death in the palm of their hands. Others do it for sport, whether it be for personal vendettas or merely for shits and giggles. Each person has their own opinion, and I'm just offering mine.
In war, we try to convince ourselves that killing for power, wealth or sport is necessary to promote the greater good. Take religion. Jesus Christ is considered to be one of the ultimate advocates of peace, life, brotherhood and unity. Yet in His name, more blood has flowed and more people have died than any other figure or concept known to man. (I'm not making any religious judgements or expressing my views on Jesus Christ; it is merely an observation and a rather dark irony, to be sure.)

We must kill our own kind because we have grown bored with killing other kinds.

We are running out of animals to drive into extinction, and we have done our level best to pollute and destroy the living environment all around us.

The only kind of killing left is our own kind.

Simply put we musn't this cannot begin by trying to change the whole world but instead begin within. Creating the respect all deserve and respecting all will lead you not to harm. If we allow this to be the premise of all peoples then the "must" you speak of cannot exist. Begin by respecting yourself and others then allow that example to be fed to others.

If you want a cynical view:

At its core, evolution supports killing to promote "survival of the fittest." Hitler, Marx, and others ascribe to this theory. I am not saying all evolutionists, or even most of them, feel this way; but it is inherent in the evolutionary chain.

That is a very optimistic view you have. The fact is it is "kill or be killed". There are a lot of Islamic terrorists out there trying to kill us on a daily basis, simply because we are free and not Muslim.
If you are referring to Iraq and the "Mass destruction weapons" we did find 500 of them, there could be more.
What will it take for you to fight? What will it take for you to kill? Do you have to have someone in your family killed? raped? tortured?

By "kind", do you mean humankind or within your own race, economic class or what? There is bad and good in every race, religion, class, etc. I just like to think that we are thinning the herd.....we are over-populated.
